Our Initiative

The arts and crafts pickup events started out of a need to support parents and kids during COVID-19. With many organizations choosing to remain online during the Summer, we want to do our part to keep the imagination alive.

Scheduled pickup dates/times:

Every other Saturday beginning May 30th and continuing June 13th, June 27th, July 11th, and July 25th from 2pm – 4pm.

Location: Mestizo, 2323 S Acadian Thruway, Baton Rouge, LA 70808

$5 Arts and Crafts Bag (June 13th)

This is good for 1 arts and crafts bag on June 13th only. Bags can be added at checkout for additional children in the family.

The arts and crafts bags will vary based on supplies but are expected to include coloring sheets, craft pom-poms, foam, paper, cardboard, paints, chalk, pipe cleaners and beads.

$15 Arts and Crafts Bag (Summer Pass) – Available through June 13th only.

This arts and crafts bag Summer Pass is good for 1 bag on the remaining 4 dates this summer. Summer Passes can be added at checkout for additional children in the family.

Celebrating Hometown Heroes – FREE Paper Playset Download Available NOW!

Tatro: Hand-Built Magnetic Toys launches a “Hometown Heroes” paper playset for kids 3-12 to honor the work of frontline employees during COVID-19. The free playsets will be available for a free download on June 1st.

In Hometown Heroes, “Hopeville” as the city is named, makes frontline workers such as healthcare workers, teachers, delivery workers, and cleaning staff essential to keep the city moving. The illustrations are inspired by the sidewalk chalk initiatives throughout the U.S that have brought hope to so many.
